Cancellation: Bad weather prevented the launch of Starship

On August 25 and 26, SpaceX made two attempts to launch Starship. However, both had to be canceled, as a result of which the super-heavy rocket has not flown anywhere.

Starship is not only the most powerful rocket in history, but also the first fully reusable rocket. SpaceX plans to use it for a range of tasks, from deploying a new generation of Starlink satellites to colonizing Mars. However, this year, the rocket development program encountered a serious problem. The new Starship Block 2 modification proved to be too immature. At present, none of its launches can be considered successful.

Following the latest accident, as well as the Starship explosion during a fire test, engineers have made numerous changes to the design of Starship Block 2, which (at least in theory) should improve its reliability. The first attempt to launch the upgraded rocket took place on August 25. However, it had to be canceled due to problems with ground equipment.

As a result, SpaceX had to postpone the launch until the following day. Engineers fully fueled the giant rocket, but it did not take off due to unfavorable weather conditions. According to SpaceX, the new Starship launch attempt will take place on August 26. The launch window for the rocket will open at 7:30 p.m. EDT (2330 GMT). However, it is possible that the rocket will not fly anywhere on that day, as weather forecasters are not predicting very favorable weather conditions for that time.

Despite all the problems and delays encountered by the Starship development program, Elon Musk still believes that his first flight to Mars could take place as early as 2026. SpaceX recently announced that it had signed an agreement with the Italian Space Agency to carry a payload as part of this mission.
