During the Full-Scale War, Ukraine has Launched Rockets into Space Twice

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine has launched its rockets into space twice. Fedir Venislavskyi stated this, as well as the fact that this work was carried out under the direction of the then-head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.

Ukrainian rockets have reached space

Fedir Venislavskyi, the President of Ukraine’s representative in the Verkhovna Rada and a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence, stated that Ukraine has launched rockets into space twice during the years of this large-scale war. According to him, this demonstrates our country’s high technical capabilities.

It should be noted here that this implies the rockets crossed the boundary beyond which, according to international standards, outer space begins. This boundary lies at an altitude of 100 km above sea level. According to Venislavskyi, monitoring equipment recorded the rockets’ flight altitudes during various tests – over 100 km and 204 km.

According to the lawmaker, the missiles were launched from aircraft, and in both cases the operation was led by Kyrylo Budanov, then head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense. The missile completed its mission, though Venislavskyi did not specify what that mission was.

Ukrainian spaceport

Two rocket launches during which the rocket crossed the boundary of space – that’s no small feat in terms of technological capabilities, as, according to Venislavskyi, it represents a unique technical achievement. It demonstrates that Ukraine is not entirely defenseless against russian missiles.

He also noted that although the launch of rockets from aircraft was initially intended to increase their flight range, it also opens up opportunities for Ukraine to establish its own spaceport. After all, launching satellites in this way is significantly cheaper than launching them from the ground.
