On March 11, Firefly Aerospace launched its Alpha rocket for the seventh time. It successfully launched a demonstration payload from Lockheed Martin into orbit. The next launch of this system will be in a new, improved version.

Rocket launch
Firefly Aerospace, an American company that was once saved by Ukrainian businessman Max Polyakov with his money and technology, continues to prove that it is one of the best options for launching satellites into orbit.
On March 11 at 5:50 pm PDT, an Alpha rocket was launched from pad No. 2 at Vandenberg Air Force Base. All stages performed successfully, and the demonstration payload from Lockheed Martin ended up exactly where it was supposed to be.
The mission was named Stairway to Seven and became the seventh launch of the Alpha light-class launch vehicle. According to representatives of Firefly Aerospace, it was particularly important for demonstrating the reliable operation of this system. Engineers conducted extensive research into its production, assembly, and testing processes to ensure the necessary level of quality and reliability.
New version
The seventh Alpha flight is an important step before the eighth, which will be even more significant. After all, the new version of the rocket, Block II, is scheduled to be used for the first time during this mission. The team of engineers is currently working on the final stages of preparation for its launch.
Alpha Block II will be 2.1 m longer than the previous version, more powerful, and significantly more reliable. In addition, it will use a new integrated battery and avionics suite manufactured by Firefly Aerospace, feature an improved thermal protection system, and incorporate robust carbon composite structures.
Since its founding in 2017, Firefly Aerospace has come a long way. It is the only private company that has managed to launch a satellite into orbit just 24 hours after receiving a corresponding order from the US government. This has made it an important partner in the military sphere.
Moreover, Firefly Aerospace remains the only private company that has successfully achieved a soft landing on the Moon. It is now one of the key players in the market for small and medium-sized launch vehicles.
