Recently, the Internet was abuzz with news that US President Donald Trump intends to reveal some secrets about the existence of extraterrestrials this summer. And allegedly, the Bank of England is already preparing for the financial consequences of this disclosure. In reality, this is all nonsense, and now we will explain why.

The statement that never was
Have you heard that the US president is going to deliver the most important speech in human history on July 8 during the opening of the American football championship? Allegedly, he is going to confirm the existence of extraterrestrial life or even intelligent aliens by revealing facts that the United States has been hiding from the world until now.
And the Bank of England is allegedly already preparing measures to stabilize the financial market. Confirmation of the existence of aliens could have a serious impact on the pound sterling and cause panic. So, all this is nonsense.
Trump has not said anything about aliens in recent days. The information about this statement comes exclusively from director Mark Christopher Lee, who claims to have his own sources in Washington. What sources he might have in the US government that no one else has remains a matter of speculation.

However, it is noteworthy that the director himself points out that July 8 is not only the start of the championship, but also the anniversary of the so-called Roswell incident, around which there is a popular conspiracy theory about an alleged UFO crash.
It seems that Trump should talk about that particular incident, rather than some other evidence of the existence of extraterrestrials. And this finally convinces us that this whole story is nothing more than a fabrication by Mark Christopher Lee himself, because the events of 1947 have long been examined in detail and recognized as fiction.
Incidentally, this is not the first time recently that there has been talk of Trump and extraterrestrials. In November – December 2025, reports appeared out of nowhere that he would reveal the truth about them to the public before the end of the year. But, of course, nothing of the sort happened.
Reports that the Bank of England fears a financial storm are roughly on the same level. In fact, this is based solely on a letter from its former analyst, Helen McCaw, in which she warns against such events and calls for the development of new mechanisms for regulating cryptocurrencies.
But still, could Trump at least theoretically reveal some secrets about extraterrestrial life that the US government has been hiding from the public? Let’s figure it out together.

Roswell incident
The history of stories about the US military hiding the truth about the existence of extraterrestrials from the world dates back to 1947, when a local farmer found strange fragments of an unknown silvery material in a field near Roswell, New Mexico.
The farmer called the military, who took something resembling a disc and fragments of the same silver shell from the field. Soon, it was officially announced that it was a weather balloon. An article appeared in the local newspaper, but at that time, the story did not receive widespread publicity.
It was remembered in the 1970s, 20 years after the events, and right in the midst of UFO hysteria. It was then that a set of myths emerged, which has now become classic: an alien flying saucer really did crash in Roswell, and the story about the weather balloon is a lie. The bodies of aliens were also found at the site. They, along with the wreckage of the saucer, are now stored in a secret hangar in the so-called “Area 51.” And the US government is hiding the whole truth because it fears panic.

Of course, the US military immediately tried to refute all this, but many people did not believe them. This whole story dragged on for many years, until in early 1994 the military declassified Project Mogul – an autonomous balloon designed to monitor Soviet nuclear tests, which was developed in the late 1940s.
Incidentally, China used a very similar concept in the 21st century to spy on the United States. In 2023, the US military shot down several such UFOs near their bases, on which Chinese cameras were found.
The Mogul project’s aerostat was a silver disc attached to a silver balloon, which totally matched what was found in Roswell. The conspiracy theory was almost falling apart, but then a video popped up.

The video allegedly shows the autopsy of an alien who died near Roswell. Everything looks very realistic, and this is what kept alive the theory that the US government was hiding the truth about aliens for several more years.
However, professional pathologists recognized this video as a fake, and in the 2000s, its director admitted that it was all staged. There are no objective reasons to continue believing that the military is really storing an alien spacecraft somewhere. However, the tradition and a certain circle of its supporters have long been established, so now it has become a cultural phenomenon.
Is it possible to declassify anything else?
A new wave of distrust toward the US government arose in 2017 when videos were released of unidentified objects that US Air Force and Navy pilots allegedly encountered in 2004 off the coast of the United States.
These are far from the first UFO images, but unlike all previous ones, experts have not yet been able to prove that they are fake. The video does indeed show an object accelerating and maneuvering extremely quickly. In 2020, the US military confirmed that the videos are real, and since then, the public has been clamoring for the whole truth to be revealed.
The US Department of Defense established the Anomalous Aerial Phenomena Research Office (AARO). At the same time, an initiative group was formed, which included even former US Air Force pilots who supported the declassification of everything related to UFOs.
All this culminated in the adoption of the Schumer-Round amendment in 2023, which obliges the military to declassify all documents relating to UFOs or extraterrestrials.

That is, if there were any secret contacts between Americans and extraterrestrials, they would have to take place in the 21st century, and they would have been declassified long ago. The only possibility is that the US president himself classified them. That is, the only person who can now hide the truth about the Roswell incident and all other equally old stories is Trump himself.
But it is almost certain that there are no sensational discoveries from the 20th century in the US archives. For many years, there have been rumors that the US government itself provoked talk of UFOs to divert attention from the testing of new aircraft, which were classified at the time. Incidentally, if Trump does confirm this, it will be quite a sensation.
But there is still information about what has happened over the past 25 years. In particular, about those cases whose videos appeared online in 2017. They are supposed to be declassified in 2029, but Trump may do so earlier. Of course, if there is anything to tell. Because the available facts suggest that if it were something more than just observations of strange phenomena, this information would have long since become public knowledge.
